Default painted t-top bar ?
has anyone ever painted the bar between the t-tops the body color b4 ?
If so any pic's ? I have a 2002 som ws6 and i was thinking of having it done.

If the sail panel is black i'd leave it. Since my sail panel is black and my t-tops/bar is black i kinda want to paint the SOM under the tops into black so that when i have the tops off you can't see the orange.

I've been wanting to do this because mine has been sun baked and I can't stand how the bar is faded and the T-tops make it look worse because they are dark with the shades in. If somebody has done this I'd like to know what they used..

I painted them before with Dupont bc/cc paint.

my sail panel is som. and i have looked at pic's of other ws6 of all colors and have not seen it done. I think i will ask my painter to do it this spring. worst case, i hate it and paint it black.

johnnt59 , do you have any pic's of any painted ? did you like the way it looked ? thanks for the replies btw guys

Could vinyl wrap it in black. A lot cheaper.

IMO leave it black. That sounds to me like it would look tacky.

Your car, your choice but SOM deserves to be as pretty as possible. Very desirable car you have.

You mean the 2" thick piece of metal that is actually squeezed between the t tops and not the sail panel right?

There is a reason you have never seen that painted..

I plasti-dipped one i got from the junkyard to flat black, just havent had a chance to install it and see how it holds up

Mine is painted, but it's a black base with blue pearl on top, so it's very subtle. I wouldn't paint it body color though, it would look kind of weird.
