Aftermarket or OEM SS Spoiler
Has anyone ever used aftermarket SS spoilers? I noticed you can buy a few aftermarket ones on www.carid.com I have had no luck in being able to find an OEM one from someone. I am just very picky on fit & wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with fitment. Thanks!

Oem go fit the best from what I hear. Also the body lines go line up better from what I've seen cause I have a picky eye myself. Some always seem to pop up for sale....... stay on the look out like I'm doing.

i have the carid ss spoiler. if u want that perfect oem look, get a oem spoiler. mine looks good from a few feet, looks great going down the road, but up close if u know these cars u can see its not perfect. the quality and paint are good for the price, and for my car its good enough. i made a thread with details and pics in the appearance section last year when i installed. id say with some finess it cud be really good, but im no body man.
bottom line im happy with it but if u r picky, u probly wont be.

Awesome man, I will take a look. Do you know exactly which brand you purchased? I'm just a stickler on little body things. I mean I street/strip the car. It's not my daily driver but when I do take it out there are a few minor things that I notice every single time I look at it. Which will all be handled at a body shop next Monday.

the brand was JKS, through CariD, mine came painted black ready to install for 259. paint was good, and my car is now show car its a '20 footer' and it looks good for me. but sounds like ud be better off finding oem, nothing wrong with wanting it perfect, just wasnt in my budget.

i had an aftermarket on my '96 and have an OEM on my '02. OEM only from now on. The aftermarket looked alright but i've gotten picky as i've gotten older and so i will only do OEM unless it's a real high quality aftermarket. Companies like VFN for hoods and stuff like that. Even those need some work to make look perfect

If you take an OEM spoiler and put it on 10 different cars it will fit every one pretty much perfectly every time. If you did this to an aftermarket spoiler it's going to look different and bad on every car. The aftermarket will not fit correctly with the hatch, not fit correctly with the body lines, or not fit correctly with the rear quarters. Possibly even all of the above. Go OEM, or deal with a sub-par fit that will look okay from 20ft away, but not match up looking in detail.
