buffing off oxidized clear coat

Default buffing off oxidized clear coat
My cavalier has a crappy clear coat, and it has been kind of turning to powder and coming off. I remember taking it to a car wash, and they buffed the powdered clear coat off. I tried Turtle Wax rubbing compound, but it isn't taking the dead clear coat off.

Any ideas what product I can use with my buffer to get the dead clear coat off?

Alright. If it has failed then there is not much you can do but to save up for another paint job. If its just oxidized you can maybe get lucky and temporarily remove the fog by using very high grit and then buff/ polish. But you will most likely loose youre clear. So thats pretty temporary.

You really need to just have the entire panel stripped of clear coat and resprayed. Sandpaper can be used for this.

The clear is toast. I don't care if that gets completely removed.
