Default Power Mirror - Looking for a Fix

Hey Guys,

I bought my Trans this fall and it came with an odd issue that didn't show up when I (or the dealer) were inspecting it.

It's hard to explain, but pictures say a thousand words (see below).

Do you guys have any suggestions for an apoxy or anything that I might be able to use to find a way to repair that "socket" that is broken? It's a ball and socket mechanism that I think I could repair with a simple piece of thick wire or something, but I'm not sure what adhesive would work, or if there's a better way to repair it.

I'd just go buy a new one, but there are a lot of repairs to do on this car and I'd like to cut a corner or two if possible. The mirror works well otherwise and looks good too.

Thanks in advance!

Bump - anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

I was thinking of drilling a hole, putting a couple shallow screws in and welding a metal wire across it...

Or finding an apoxy of some sort?

By the time you purchase epoxy and fix it, it's cheaper to get that from a pull a part junk yard.

Go to junk yard and find 2 or 3 firebirds with power side mirrors, remove all 4 or 6 and purchase. Paint one or 2 to match. Keep others in shed, garage, or under your bed. Problem solved forever.
