Default Hood Bird for my 1998 Trans Am

I have decided to go against the norm on my TA to make it a little more "me" and to me, the Trans Ams of my childhood were always about the big screaming chicken. My car is black with the dark graphite/charcoal interior, so I decided that I'd stick with that color scheme when I started changing my appearance. I went with Vision Torque wheels that had gunmetal gray in the rim and then I initially bought the gunmetal Ram Air blackbird stripes to go on my TruFiber Outlaw hood, but decided that it was a little too plain for me. I saw a few 4th gen TAs with a hood bird and decided that I really liked it. I initially planned the bird to be the same gunmetal color as the rims and then have the lighter silver accents, but the graphics place did the bird with the colors reversed on their program and I really liked that too.... Choices choices......

we are on the same page. I like the first one. with these be vinyl decals? if so, I STRONGLY recommend burying that decal in as much clear coat as possible. Mine is so buried that some people think the bird is actually painted on.

Apparently with the vinyl I'm going with, I wouldn't need to they said even though I initially wanted to. If I did, they would have to use different material or something because this stuff is glossy and the clear wouldn't stick. On top of that, I'd have to have the hood prepped for clear before the decal I think. I'm not a paint guy so I'm not sure what the process is with mixing actual paint, clear and vinyl and what agrees with what.
