I’ve pulled a broken windshield out of my camaro with piano wire with the handles. You absolutely cannot do it without a helper. I would highly recommend that you pull the dash pad out or it will get damaged. I have never installed a windshield back into the car myself, only because all the mobile glass companies around here won’t just sell you the glass and if they are will to then they charge the same price they would if they were installing it. There are other methods of pulling the glass but nothing I have available. I’ve seen a “professional” glass installer do one with a sawzall with a really long blade on it. I would never attempt this method.

There's a youtube video that shows a guy using string, an anchor on the inside window and another anchor w/drill to pull the strong - and cut the sealant al the way around.

Looked clean and easy enough to do.
