sail panel blues
So I just wired 6LE $700.00 for a new sail panel, which because Im Canadian cost me $920.00 with exchange. I have yet to hear anything from them like a confirmation that they received the payment. I hope this goes well,I get the feeling this is going to be an expensive fix by the time it is painted and installed. What a nasty problem!

Why do you say that I have been monitoring this forum for two years trying to figure best way to handle this problem. I have ordered from them before a did alright. Has something happened with them.

Keep us updated on this, I was thinking of buying a panel from them as well. I'd like to know how long the shipping takes. I'm in the US so it's probably different. Good luck!

Picked up roof panel at shipping receiver in Michigan as scheduled. Another $80.00 to get it across the border, but once I got it home I can say I was very happy with the look of
the panel. Now I just have to see how well it fits. I was able to secure a painter from a local car show this weekend to do the job and scope out his excellent workmanship.

Some guys have had issues and it HAD been more of an issue in the last year. I've bought a center mount exhaust setup from them as well as a few other things and they've all arrived fine. There was some issues with staffing and he being into some personal problems but he's hired some staff and is working through issues. The ones that did have orders were refunded from what i know and they started fresh. I just ordered t-top shades from them and they should be here this week according to fedex.

So now do I need to fit it before paint? It looks good. Was there known fitment issues in the past in certain areas? It would be a lot less down time if I could just paint it before tearing old one off.

Always test fit body panels before paint. It sucks and it’s more work but there is just no way around it. You wouldn’t want to paint it, slap it up there and realize you need to shave a 1/4 inch off down the whole thing and mess up the paint you have already laid.

Also, the manufacturer for their stuff is now selling direct so maybe that will work out much better.

Lets be honest here, they aren't a sponsor because they stopped paying. And normally when a sponsor stops paying they get banned. That's not to say they haven't screwed people over but be real about the reason for things.

Im about tear off old sail panel and install new one. My windshield shop buddy is going to be helping me and the
urethane he uses is Sika brand. Has anybody heard of any problems related to using Sika urethane and primer
to bond sail panel to car.

Just make sure to use an epoxy primer on the underside of the panel before allowing it to contact the urethane.

And good luck to you also Mike. We too are scheduled to remove roof tomorrow and then check fitment.
The plan is then to have the panel painted off the car then install.I wonder if members have had any issues
with painting off verses painting on the car?
