FAST lettering delete/factory texture?

FAST lettering delete/factory texture? I'm picking up a used cathedral port FAST 92 and I'd like to remove the lettering (personal preference). I intend to paint it flat black and would like to keep the factory-ish texture so it looks like a factory manifold. Obviously to remove the lettering, I have to sand off the letters. Sanding the letters will leave me with smooth spots unless I wet sand the upper entire manifold. If I sand the entire upper manifold, it won't have the factory-ish texture.
So the real question I guess is how do I mimic the factory texture in the areas that end up smooth (due to sanding the letters off)?

Your best bet would be to sand it all and retexture the whole thing so it matches, There are some paints that will give you a textured finish or you could use one the products available to add texture before painting. http://www.semproducts.com/product/t...oating/coating
VHT Has a wrinkle paint that works awesome on metals, but im not sure if it works on plastic.
Heres an overflow tank i just did. If you throw the part in the oven(or a heat gun would work i guess) the wrinkles become more pronounced.

Something I kinda played with before on other plastics was heating the surface in a small area, then quickly pressing something with a similar reverse pattern against it, such as maybe 80 grit sandpaper or a piece of copper with a hammered texture.
But on the common side of plastic bumper repair, textured spray such as the SEM mentioned or from Polyvance , then a finish coating is used. A good epoxy, such as SPI black (is glossy)would have great bond & be a finish coat for such a part. Also with SPI expoxy, if you let it sit in sealed container mixed a day or 2 & shoot with low air pressure, you will get a texture coating. See post 5 in link, this wasn't intended, but could be replicated with thickening mixture & low spray pressure.
