Default 2002 Camaro ZL1 Tribute Car - Finally Finished

After a considerable amount of planning and very hard work, my 2002 Camaro ZL1 "Tribute Car" is finished. This car started out as a 2002 SS that I purchased new in October of 2002, and it currently has 9,160 miles. I took it out for a drive today; it's first in more than 4 years. Now that its finished, I'm on the next project and this one will likely be sold soon.

Looks good. If I had done this though, I would have put the GMMG cat-back on it, some C5 ZO6 wheels (like some of the ZL1's had) or 18" Cragar SS wheels, C5 converted brakes, and at least the carbon fiber lid made by MTI. I put a GMMG on my car last week and I love it. I'll order a manta kit in silver-metallic soon enough and I'd like to eventualy pick up a set of American Racing 300S wheels like the Intimidator SS. Good job again.

I appreciate the kind words. The black under the headlight is from them not being adjusted when the pics were taken. The sun hadn't set since completion

I opted to pass on the traditional ZL1 wheels; C5 Z06 wheels are way too common and the Cragars are ugly. Some cars also got Fiske wheels, but even those have become somewhat common. I also deviated on the stripes; mine are painted instead of decals.

How much would you sell it for?

$25K

It's a 2002 SS with 9,160 miles. I have about $20K invested in the paint, suspension, wheels/tires, and other upgrades. The car has been driven about 20 miles since completion.

Very nice!! What color is that exactly? It looks a little richer than the 99 Hugger Orange.

Those tips look like Loudmouth tips. I'm suprised you didn't go with the GMMG exhaust, but again, nice car man.

I'm sorry for the delayed response. I'm currently in Cabo, and as you might expect, internet access isn't totally reliable here.

The color is 1969 Hugger Orange. It has more red, which provides a deeper look, than the 1999 version.

I appreciate all of the great feedback on the car. It's been a true labor of love, but I will likely pursue selling it when I return home this week. The true pleasure for me is the process of creating and building, so I'm starting on the next project now.

On a sidenote, there is nowhere to get a real GMMG badge is there? I had a badge decal that they sell online, but it was flimsy and faded bad after a year. I'm 100% positive that they are exclusive to GMMG cars, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
