Default Mangled lifting point on passenger side

I'm not talking about the fender tab, but the actual metal lifting point where the factory spare tire jack goes is bent and mangled up. Can't use the factory spare tire jack there anymore as it no longer fits into the slit.. Is there any way this can be straightened or fixed and still be safely used to lift the vehicle?

Sorry for the delay. Been really busy. I had time today to finally work on her. Replaced my alternator (regulator was bad on the old one causing my voltage to jump) and my rear bump stops too..

anyway here are the pics.

I think you could fix that with some angled pry tools, small creasent wrenches. Work it slow till you have a nice shape. Then hit it with a can of spray in bed liner .

My emergency jack is actually missing. I need to buy one. It just hasn’t been in use for a long time till recently as I have another DD and the Z28 has been down undergoing an LS3 conversion pretty much all of last year so I never gave it priority but I intend to start using it more and possibly taking it over the road so in the event a tire fails I want to beable to jack it up.

right now I’m using Race Ramps to get under it. I have a floor jack and 2 jack stands as well when I need to jack it up.

What kind of angled tools? Also just curious will it lose integrity or will I need to worry about it breaking while I’m swapping a wheel?

This should get the job done.

I may get nocked for this but I always say this is the first thing to put on these cars. And my reasoning is excellent jack joints. I'll never jack from the seam again. I also prefer the square weld ons, don't have to worry about jackpoints or jack stands placement ever again.......

I believe that is called a "pinch weld". Usually happens when someone uses a floor jack and doesnt get it on the subframe. I straightened mine with a large pair of channel lock pliers. As mentioned, subframe connectors will give additional lifting points. They make pinch weld adapters for floor jacks and lift arms, check Ebay.

To make it easier use a heat gun to heat it up will help with bending it back

I have 3-point SFC and use it for jacking too. I can put the jack a bit forward of middle and lift the whole side.

They make "jacking rails" for the Mustang too and I installed them on mine as well.
