Default Black primer for Hugger Orange?

Will black primer work underneath orange paint? I ordered a bunch of primer thinking it was grey, but of course I got confused and ordered black. I could try and return it, but the cost of return shipping is astronomical for 2 gallons of paint+hardener.

So, can I get away with black primer? Is it a matter of spraying a few more layers of base or do I absolutely need gray?

Thanks

I'd suggest calling the paint supplier and asking.

Are you color matching existing stuff or a total respray?

I think from my limited research that you can use a black primer, it just may make the final paint look a touch darker. If doing a total respray that wouldn't matter, but if you're color matching existing stuff shot on gray primer I wouldn't expect it to look right.
