Bubbling Sail Panel Issue for Dummies
Nope, never had enough interest to get them made
. People either do a t-top or targa conversion with our t-top sail or get a shop to graft our t-top and targa together into a hardtop.

I know what causes the roofs to bubble on these cars and the part has been discontinued from GM to properly fix it soooo...
What's the best course of action to correct permanentely it go cut a non bubbling roof off of a 93-97 t-top car scuff the bottom real good shoot it with epoxy primer let it dry a few day's then glue it back down and GTG.
I just bought this car and the panel has been repainted once already and the clear is bubbling only where the urethane is laid underneath the panel to secure it to the body.

One of the sponsors makes a replacement panel in both fiberglass and carbon fiber. As far as I know they are the only place to get a new piece from.

Good part but too much money I found several good ones I'm goin to attempt to cut off of a few cars. But it is a fairly priced part for the R&D and their investment in it im just trying to save several bucks.
98 or older only, 97 to be safe (some 98s had the problem also, though mine didn't).

Once you get into the 05/98 and later builds, it's hit or miss. I remember that yours was a June build, so it was a lucky one.

Getting this part from the dealer is no longer an option, since GM has discontinued it.
Cost to repair will range depending on where you source a new roof from (either used, or a reproduction panel from 6LE), and whatever your body shop of choice will charge for the paint and install.

I was quoted $650 at a local shop that has successfully done this before to:
- Remove "good" roof panel I bought off of a '94 camaro (still attached to the roof structure)
- Remove "bad" panel off the affected car
- Install "good" room on the actual car
The price goes up to $1018 if the roof needs paint (which the roof I got does). Does that seem like a decent price?
NOTE: This is for a HARD TOP car, so it is more work than just replacing the sail panel of a T-top car.

I wanted to ask 6 liter eater about his carbon roof and sail panel i am very interested in getting those at some point for my car because it does look and and reducing weight especially high up on the car can't hurt either, my concern is longevity of the part in the elements like snow, rain, and the sun.
