I'm the girlfriend. The moral of the story is 69vette agreed to pay for all traveling expenses in return mentioning stryker's name in the magazine for advertisement. When stryker asked "can I bring my girlfriend, she loves to travel" 69vette replied "Your welcome to bring whoever you want with you. The guy that owns the booth is very chill and would have no problems at all. I am willing to work with you in
any way i can." The total cost of all traveling expenses was $1200. To this day, a year later, 69vette has only paid $500. It was never mentioned prior to painting that I (girlfriend) would be helping, although I did help stryker clean his guns so that he could change colors faster - there was not much else to do except the artwork. They agreed on a price, the job was done in a timely manner, and done to perfection. But, unfortunately, stryker has paid $700 to put paint on 69vette's car which has not been in a magazine. End of story-enjoy the pictures of crazy crazy talent!

Well, I'm not going to argue with a first time poster, but I guess you're referring to my comments since you used the word "moral" which I had used. I'm not bashing your boyfriend, I actually on his side and think the paint job was well worth every penny of the $1200.00 you want. HOWEVER, the point I am trying to make is in NOWHERE in the entire thread was anything mentioned about a WRITTEN, SIGNED agreement between stryker and this guy. Something that you could present to a judge in court and say this is what he owes me. That is my point. Don't go on verbal agreements alone, get it in writing. Hopefully, you and he have started or will start doing that before taking on anymore out of town work that requires you to be reimbursed for travel expenses. You should have a pretty good idea by now how much it costs to travel, how long a job will take and how much the job is worth. All of that taken into account should net you a total fixed cost that you can present to the prospective client. If he agrees get the money upfront, if not, screw that client and go on to the next job. Now for the 3rd and final time I am going to compliment your boyfriend's work and stress my strong opinion that all of this could have been avoided if proper business procedures had been used.

I totally agree that a written contract should be established. He definitely learned his lesson there. However, he DOES have all the conversation in email, so everything's "in writing..."

So if you paid me everything you owe me when I did the car back in august of 05 how come in our email back in september of 05 (after the car was done) you admit you still owe me money. Probably because the $500 that you said you paid me isnt true. Lets try one single hundred dollar bill plus a check for $400 before I flew out. You keep making up lie after lie and the fact is I have all the proof I need in our emails.
Yes you are right this is not the place to argue this is the place for me to post my pics and tell my interesting story that took place. No need for you to come into the thread and make up lies. Besides I have it all documented in emails that you apparently have deleted since you thought I disappeared.

69Vette, I'm tired of this crap. Just pay the man what he is owed and quit pretending your car is some super-secret mega important showcar build up. It's JUST a car, and there is absolutely NO reason to play the "top secret" card because of potential magazine coverage. That isn't how it works. I should know, I've had three features on my cars written, and I have written six features for GM High Tech now.

In fact, you are so way off on your BS. Just about every car we have featured in the last three years were from cars SEEN on this site and at the carshows and racetracks. There aren't any "SECRET" builds going on that we care about.

Honestly, at the slow rate you are building that car, the "real flame" fad will be over and nobody will be interested in the car. Those flames were somewhat unique a year ago, not so much now.

Again, I didn't know a check was sent to you. I don't write the company checks and i really didn't rember you ever asking for anything before you came. I'm glad i made the time to go back and research it. Email me though and i'll gladly get something signed from the people that were there when i gave it to you or i can prob. dig up a bank statement from that morning showing i went and got the 500 out if thats needed for you.

Real flames already aren't anything special and they never really were. No one said it was supper secret either. I just don't feel the need to post pictures online to hear people say how they feel about any of my cars. I believe you could prob. pull up my posts on here and see that I have never once made any post on any car i have ever owned. Its just not something I care enough to do.

Why are you admitting a week after the job was done (after we came home) that money was owed, but a year later you're saying you handed him $500 in cash? I remember you showing up that morning with $100 and we were bent out of shape because you told us to go to your house to get the rest of the money when we had a plane to catch. (I don't even pay Walmart cash without getting a receipt... it's not traceable).

Yeah I would like to see a bank statement showing the $500 that you supposedly gave me. Last time I checked one hundred dollar bill equals just that...$100, not 500. You honestly think I would have made this post if you payed for everything you agreed to? That I would just come on here and try to start something with someone that payed me what was promised? The reason the post was made was because you cant pay me what is owed and I have yet to see the car in a magazine like promised so I felt like waiting a year was long enough to hold up to my end of the bargain. The pics are posted for everyone to see my work and the story was told for those who were interested and for those who could benefit from my mistake in how I handled the business end of the deal. You are naive to think people cant see through your lies, I am pretty sure Tony made that obvious with his post.

Your the one suddenly trying to say the bill is 1200. I'll gladly get a copy of the bank statement next week when i have time. LOL at I told you to come to my house. Tate brought you over here to see the car out in the daylight, I didn't even know you were coming over here till he called me. And your gf must be confused also because I never saw you after the second day. I had businesss to take care of and we were done with what we needed to. And I completely feel you posted it up here just to start another argument over it, which is unneccessary. Numerous people can verify me. I've spent over 60k on this car alone and probablily another 100k on other projects this year alone and never had a single issue with anyone but you. Like i said before, I wish I would have just went with someone local that was more experienced. Feel free to email me if you want to. I don't see the point in posting up on here and going through everything again.
