paint issues on trim molding...

paint issues on trim molding... i have a 99 Z28, and over the past few years i have noticed these tiny black spots on the trim molding on the driver side of my car slowly get bigger. i think it's the clear coat maybe, but not sure. if i had to describe them i'd say they look like little moldy lillypads like if you leave a cup of tea or something sitting out for a few days, but they are black.
since i first noticed them, there were only a few spots. but now, they are almost to the point of making the whole strip of molding black. the super wierd part is that the only pieces that i have seen this problem on my car is the left front fender, and the left rear quater panel. the driver door is just fine, and i haven't seen any evidence of this problem from the passanger side either.
i have also seen a few threads posted before about the b-pillar glue issues on 98 and newer LS1's, and how the paint will "bubble" up. i was curious if this might be the same type issue?
PS- i'll try to get some pics for anyone in the body-shop biz if you think it'll help.

u have to take them off to do it right, and retape them, and paint, after all the headache i think you would be better off trying to see if u can get a set from gm already painted, if u are talking bout the mouldngs in the centers of the fenders door etc
