What are the instructions for this? I dont want the paint to flake after a day or two.

Just sand the bottle down then lay on some paint it will be just ike painting a car, no different. Just scratch it up with like some 300 to give the paint something to stick to and then spray it..

What kind of paint should I use?

Well all you will really need is just a lil bit but you can use automotive paint. Like they use to paint cars with, then do a clear coat and it would look bad as hell. I would just paint it the same color as the car do a basecoat clearcoat and it will look sweet. I bet you can get someone to mix you up some of that paint for cheap bc it wont take much. If you have a friend that is a painter im sure that he could hook you up so that away you dont have to buy clear which is expensive and also a pint of paint you would have too much money into just painting the bottle. Unless its a show car then it would be worth it IMO bc it would look really good matching your car. Maybe you could even get somebody to air brush SS into the side of the bottle

you'd want to cut the paint with no less than 600 anything lower will cause the base to sink and you will see it as deep scratches. If the body has a clear on it then i would use 800

Just lightly sand the bottle and choose a paint color. Put like 2-3 coats on it and your set. Thats what I did with my old bottle. I painted it chrome.

if you brought it to a body shop they would probably charge between $50 and $75, so if you dont mind spending a little bit for a nice look then it might be worth it.

Ya if you can ship the bottle to me i can prob get my dad to do a basecoat clearcoat on it . It would be cheap to. Ill just have to call him and ask him how much hee will charge for it.

take it to a body shop... wont take much paint at all... half pint mixed one to one would be plenty.. and you'll have some left over

That was after mounting the bottle for the first time. Just goes to show that not every painter knows what they're talking about. He said he could do an anodized look with paint and the prep was good, but the paint didn't bond for **** because of the lack of primer/intelligence

Some people even glue some rubber to your bottle mounts also to make sure that doesn't scrape it up in the future

sand smooth to about 400 grit, degrease and lay primer

let it dry

sand the primer smooth with 400-600 grit. lay the base coat in thin coats.

let it dry

lay the clear coat with one very thin coat, let it dry for a hour, then reapply a few slightly thicker coats in the same manner

sand with 1500-2000 grit. polish with a scratch remover or similar polish.
