Default Paint fading

Well, i have noticed that in the top rear quarter panel of my car the paint seems to be fading or burning off. how does that happen, and can i do anything about it. I have also nocticed on the spoiler.

yes it sits outside alot, and the sun hits pretty hard here in south texas. Ill try to get pics tommarow, sometimes when i wax that part it helps.
