Random thought...
I played with that stuff years ago. We design toys and I found the company. It was water based though and was some kind of microencapsulated stuff that might not hold up in a lot of sunlight.... Sorry can't remember the company, do a color changing paint" search.
Or Glow in the dark flames. Flames that magically appear at night especially after you park under service station lights....I was going to paint my old 924 porsche solid glow in the dark but the pigment was very coarse and heavy and would not stay suspended in laquer, plus, I didn't know if i would radiate myself LOL!
Probably nowadays they have finer stuff.
I bought a batch of invisible neon paint in 7 colors that only glow under UV. But they don't "charge up", they have to have a black light on them. Search Invisible Black Light paint.

I think glow in the dark paint done right would be pretty cool. I also like the chrome paint.
Here is how this idea came up...
I was playing cars with my son and he said, "Dad watch this". He put a car in his hands and rubbed it until it went from white to red. After that he told me I should should paint fire on my car that changes just like his car. Its funny how an 8 year old gave me the best idea for my paint job. I'm debating on racing stripes or flames. The only issue is that my car is pewter.... not every color matches pewter.
Edit: What do you guys think about this? Put color change painted flames on top of black racing stripes. That way when the stripes get hot they turn from all black to mulicolored flames. I think that way it wont clash too much with the pewter paint, and would still look pretty sweet!
