Default Which ram air hood?

I have a 2k Firebird v6 3.8L. I've been doing a little research on these ram air hoods and I am finding many out there for sale on the net, all with vastly different prices. I'm looking for some advice on what to get as I'm quite ignorant on these matters.

One I was looking at was from SLP Performance Parts:
http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=100075
which they are selling for $823

However I was looking at the one from VFN and it's around $300. What is the difference between the two?

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Well there are a couple of differences. The style of the hood if you look closely is different. Plus where you are buying them from makes a difference too. Everybody on here will tell ya to go with VFN fyi. but get what ya like. suncoast creations has some and of course there is Ebay.

Thanks everyone for the quick response. I'll investigate VFN a bit more. I'm thinking about also getting the wings kit from wings west installed. I wish when I bought my Firebird back in 2k, I had the money to buy a TA instead. I can't quite afford or want to buy a new car and I love the birds, so I am in the process of adding some upgrades to my vehicle. I have low mileage 45k, and plan on adding new wheels and tires as they are all still the originals.

try the raptor hood from suncoast creations. it looks so sick on a forumula so i'd imagine it would look just as good on a firebird.

My TA had the SLP H.O. hood on it when I bought it, and I think it's badass. Pic in sig. I need to find out if there's a write up on how to cut the bellows out though to get better airflow through it.

I would also keep an eye on ebay, sometimes you can get a pretty good deal, and maybe an already painted one, just in need of a little clearcoat.

What do you all think about this company and hood:

https://www.ramairhood.com/store/scr...p?idproduct=33

It's the most expensive I have found but it comes fully functional with the air box and the option to have it painted. If I go with package 4, think I'm being ripped off?

The raptor hood looks ok, but I was leaning towards something along the lines of the ws6 style.

lol. Can you believe someone sniped my bid at the last minute? The guy selling it was even going to drive up to my house and help me install it. I'm pissed! Oh well back to the drawing board but I'll keep an eye out on ebay, I mean that was a perfect auction for me being in Ohio, same color and his garage was 2 1/2 hrs away.

This guy makes very nice hoods, I like the heat extractors too to make it a little different
