I've used both many dozens of times on both intakes and on the plastic fuel rail covers, which are much thinner than the intakes, which by the way are not plastic but a composite nylon material. It does not soften or damage them in any way.

ahhh i c , I know that that **** will eat through plastic and rubber like no ones business
but composite i know nothing about lol
