Default 41u?

I am unable to check my car right now so I was wondering if anyone could verify this for me.

Is 41U the paint code for all black 2002 Firehawks?

I can get a sweet deal on some touch up paint etc here, then Ill be going back home to use it.

Thanks,
Ry

well look in the code sheet in your glove box ( its a decal) see if you can find 4lu there... but i work at a body shop and to my knowledge all GM paint codes are a WA #### code.... black is usually WA8555... go in the glovebox of your car and look at that sheet it was say it under the long list of stuff...

some cars are mixes... and although u cant tell the difference... in the right light you can see the difference like night and day because GM black has a brownish hew to it.... where as strait black tint has no hew... i painted my hood off my car and did it strait black i didnt mix it and its fine but i can see the difference in the right light... so dont say there is no difference... iv told people their car has been painted before and they had no idea till i pointed out that the door was brownish and the 1/4 was black... im not tryen to talk **** but you are just miss informing people that might not no what you are talking about...

So if I am going to get some paint to touch up at an auto supply store, do I look for black that matches wa8555 or 41U?

to my knowledge gm never used a metallic black on f-bodies... so if your car is NOT mettallic... look for somtihng that matches wa8555... there should be a cross reference book at the store you go to...

I take it you werent the painter cause you would know this isnt the case. Paint a panel in GM 8555 black and another with UA (fords) black and I can certainly tell a difference in the light.
