Default rubbing compound

i used a medium rubbing compound on my roof today and it looks like a rust color paint is coming through the paint...its doesnt look like the paint or clear is thin...you can only see it in the right sun light. What in the world?

well i used a cleaner wax, cause polish doesn't work good enough. Then i finished off with a gold wax. I see if its still there tomorrow and if so i will take pics.
