This may be a dumb question but I'm looking at buying one and wanted to double check how they are painted. I'm assuming they are painted the same as the body of the car with real automotive paint? So no rattle can right?
Sorry again for Noob question.
Thanks,
Kyle

He means the license plate cover, with the bird on it, it is painted with automotive paint but it is plastic so you can rattle can it, if you find something close to your body paint color i say do it. Nice and cheap.

i bought one from ws6store.com and they come with a black primer i think but i sanded it then used black spray pain t and then a clear on top of that and came out really nice and has been like that for a year now and no problems. i live in florida and the car stays in the drive way out side with no cover and my paint is perfect.

My car is black thats why I was wondering if I could get away with a rattle job instead of paying the local paint shop money. B/c I'm sure they charge a minimum of 50 plus paint. But, I'll go ahead and order one if rattle will do. Anyone else rattle can theirs?
Thanks,
Kyle

I rattle can'd mine...no issues, but I did use a top quality clearcoat too.
I special ordered the SOM paint from http://www.levineautoparts.com/
I would imagine black you could get anywhere...
Make sure you degrease/clean the plastic before spraying...
