Factory grill
Factory grill I don't really have the money to buy an aftermarket grill so has anyone painted the factory grill a glossy black? i was thinkin about doing it but dont want to mess anything up or have it look bad. pics are welcome

well it was easy to do and ill tell you how lol. the key is prep go to a parts store and get some paint and sand paper. sand it down with a 100 grit block you get those at the parts store and there little blocks should be red. then get some 600 grit and go over it again. all the sanding is done wet and a trick i use is to put a little soap in the water it helps it slide better. no get a duplicolor prep wipe i think there 99 cents or so and whipe the part down real good. get 1 can of adheshion promotor 1 can of gloss black and 1 can of clear. theres 2 different kinds of paint lacker and enamel i used the cans with the blue lable. spary the grill with a litle mist of the promotor wait 5 min and give it a little heveyer coat but dont over do it use comon sense. wait about 10 min and give it a light dusting of gloos black and wait about 10 min give it another little heavyer coat wait 10 min then start paining it in side to side passed till it looks glossy and slick and not blotchy. wait about 15 min and do the same thing with the clear. its you option to wet sand it after a few days and i used 1500 paper then i buffed it out with my porter cable and some 3m compound then went ouver it with a good polish.

most of the stuff i painted looks profesional i did my berger panel gloss black and no one can tell i spray painted it. im shure you watch car shows of have seen some one paint on tv before so the to duplicate there actions .side to side motions and prop the piece up like it would sit on the car its easyer to paint straight then point the can down. paint comes out more even that way.take your time and if you mess up just let it dry and sand it back down.

^^yep, thats what I obviously decided to do.....I had it done for free because I lined up the stripes myself, and when the shop guy finished painting it, he forgot to call....pretty sweet deal
