Default Couple of paint ?'s

1st off which clear is the best to put on HOK paint, also where to purchase clear. Online preferably around here all there is, is PPG, Dupont, Omni,SW and some other cheap crap. I want a GOOD quality clear that will look like glass and is not to brittle.... As for my other question. Where can I purchase gunmetal gray paint. Want to paint the center of my prostars... I think this color will lokk great with HOK Tangelo

personally i like standox better then any of those companies. theres companys such as metro supply and terrace supply(im from illinois) but they supply a lot of body shop supplies. whatever paint company you decide that you want to go with, go to their website and usually they have a dealer locater.

I'm using Southern Polyurethane's Universal Clear. I love it, it's great for a newbie like me. It is nearly idiot proof, and believe me, I need it.

You can get it by contacting Baker PBE at http://www.bakerpbe.com - just call them or email them with your order and phone number, they'll call you back (that's what I did). Go to their Catalog / Vendors list and select Southern Polyurethanes. Clear is about $120 per sprayable gallon (2 qts clear, 2 qts activator). Shipping cost is VERY reasonable as well.

They have a forum here:

http://spi.forumup.org/index.php?mforum=spi

Lots of pictures of the clear in action on there.

The owner of SPI is on there, and will answer your questions. Their web site is at http://www.southernpolyurethanes.com

Oh, and as for the gunmetal gray, I ordered mixed RM Diamont base from these guys online:

http://www.autobodysupply.net/

Price was OK, but after taxes and shipping, it was about the same as what I could buy it locally for (at the time I didn't know of a shop that sold Diamont locally, but I found one).

Sikkens or HOk clear, House of Kolor has the most uv protection out of most clears i am familiar with. I have never gone wrong with HoK and any clear will look like glass if you lay it down like glass. It's on the painter, viscosities varry and you just adjust thinner or air to fix that.
