Default Door info stickers

For you guys who do a good job painting, how or what do you do about the information sticker on the inside driver's door? Can you get a duplicate from GM or do you just leave it off?

well usually u cant reuse them once removed so if the door is getting repaired and edged in like lets say a door skin... we'de just tape it off finely and razor around it if needed and peel off when done keeping the decal unpainted... if we are replacing the door and are unable to reuse then we have to get duplicates from the dealer... you should never leave decals like these or under the hood ones off... not professional...

If they have a VIN number on them they cant be replaced. Due to auto theft reasons. If someone steals a car all they need is a few new stickers and vin plate and they are set. A couple of years ago I saw an ad for a company that would make new stickers with the vin etc. I tried to find them but I think they are out of business. I hate it when we have to use a new door and there are no tags available to make it look as if it has never been worked on. If anyone has the 411 on the company that makes the stickers send me a pm.

By law your not supposed to remove the vehicle specific decals in any way shape or form.

You cant even cut/trim or remove a section of the door in order to keep the decal for future refference.

Legally all you can do is tape it off or if the door is being replaced take a picture.

If it is taped off carefully and no exessive material is used no one will know.

I'm glad you asked this, because I was just about to post the same question.

My car was T-boned on the driver side, and the door, along with the inner stickers, were destroyed. Here's a picture:

The whole door was replaced, but unfortunately, the shop tossed the destroyed door before I could do anything about those decals.

Believe me, I wanted to...it's a really long story, but the cliff notes are that the dick motorcycle cop that responded had a personal vendetta against my dad and took it out on me, gave me the ticket when the accident was clearly the other girl's fault. Fought it in court, judge for whatever reason still found me guilt. Appealed it to the superior court, and lost again because the municipal court that I originally appeared at lost all of the evidence I presented in the case, and the superior court denied my request for a dismissal based on the grounds that I couldn't properly defend myself without that evidence. In essence, a waste of year of my time, not to mention the money involved in court fees and paying the citation.

You got a real winner of a local justice system
sounds similiar to the idiots Ive dealt with, here, in my local courts. We pay their salaries to serve US, and they act like everyone is below them.
