Default Help: Window won't go up

Vehicle: 97 corvette

My driver’s side window’s been giving me trouble going up for several months now. Usually by going down slightly and immediately back up, I could get the window eventually make it to the “full up” position. Today it didn’t work. The window refused to go more than halfway up. I removed the door panel and found that the cable on the front part of the window was severely frayed to the point of near failure. This is what prevented the window from reaching the “full up” position.

Since this is my daily driver, I have to have the windows up when I park it. I found a temporary solution by cutting the cable and manually lifting the window to the full up position. It’s currently being held in place by a pair of C clamps on the windows roller track.

I’m looking for the repair procedure to permanently fix this. Suggestions?

New window regulator should do it, and they are not that hard to put in.
