Default Possible to do a very light shade w/ VHT?

I've been wanting to coat my tails, side markers, and blinkers with night shades but all the ones i've seen have been too dark for my tastes, i want them to be just slightly darker. As if i put 75-50% tint on them.
I have heard that you can sand them til they are lighter is this accurate?

if you know someone who paints just mix a little black in clear coat, looks better then that vht stuff anyways and you can go as light or dark as you want.

Less coats = lighter shade

I had to put over 5 coats on my side markers to black them out. And the light still shines through at night. There is no way 1 coat would be totally black unless you are actuall using spray paint and you still normally have to apply a heavy or multiple coats to achieve complete black.

I did very very light shades and many many layers. It is as light as you put it on or as dark as you put it on. You control how black the are just do very very light shades until your happy.

I put 4 coats on mine and it is fairly dark now. You could do 2 coats and be pretty safe...I think that would be pretty subtle.
It definitely does not go on like black spray paint...you can hardly see the first coat.

LOL, only if you get it so thick it has runs in it.

Mine has (5) light coats. You just need to apply each coat lightly until you reach your desired darkness. Then shoot it with some clear. I used Duplicolor Truck/SUV clear coat.
