I think the LT1 cars had 4 catalytic converters. When they turned to LS1 based cars, there was no catalytic converter in that spot. GM went cheap and used the same unibody to save some money. It was a cop out of sorts but what can ya do?

wow... thats really pretty slick.. and looks pretty straight forward... the only critque is to reinforce the crossmember.. with plating or something...

That crossmember is solid. Trust me on that one. I know the floor isnt 100% of the strength that it was stock simply because we broke factory welds. But if I had to guess it is no less than 95% as strong. Nothing that we could feel/gauge.
My friend who did it didn't charge me much. Cost was mainly due to the fact of the cost of welding materials (gas/etc). Who knows what it would cost to have this done elsewhere, or for someone else.
