Angry Removing Manual Window Crank??

Jesus christ! This SHOULD be one of the easiest things to do, but NOOOOO... I can't figure out how to get the damn thing off so I can replace my front door speakers. I have an '01 SS and have searched and searched but can't find anything, apparently because manual windows are a rather rare thing... lol Anyone have ANY ideas? Thanks!!

Is that even an option, I thought all SS came with all power options...

I have the same car too, except it's a 2000, color and rims. I like the bowtie up front!

Has your roof started bubbling yet?

There's a little clip behind it you can pull off with a 90' pick.

You can also use a flat blade screwdriver or like a butter knife from the kitchen...the crank is just installed on a spline that has a groove around it with a springy wire clip thing that you can't normally see unless you're looking for it. Usually they start to slide off, then fly across the driveway, so make sure it's not coming at your eyes...they kinda suck to pop back in too, but it's not impossible. Mine's got power windows, but I've removed LOTS of those cranks in the past.

Although an old handle, you get the jist . . .

The auto parts store does sell a tool. Looks somewhat like a spakle knife with a slot cut out of it to push the "c" clip off.

Thanks! Alas, SSs DON'T all come with power options. If you want that, you get a T/A or WS6; those come with nothing BUT power everything. Mine is a screw-up... I ordered it with everything and it came with nothing... lol My roof is *slightly* bubbled down along the pillars in a couple small places... not bad, though.

I got that damn clip off and the handle removed, so thanks to those who replied!
