Default Restoring paint? Getting it looking new, not your avg qeustion

My LT1 has been sitting for some time now, and its been around 3 years sat for a year old side, then under a cover, and then in a garage...Always kept in a shaded area so the sun didnt fade it out..

But the car hasnt gotten a wash in along time, and ive havent had the time to really up keep it...

So can I have it wet sanded and buffed out? What do you do to get it looking fresh again..Even though its dirty its got shine in it etc..

PS

The car is WHITE

wash it as usuall with a terry cloth, let it dry , then claybar it (maybe twice) , feel the paint and then post the results.. i never sand unless i paint a piece and i want to remove orange peel .

try to use destilled water in the wash process.

you may not have to wet sand it but if it were me trying to bring out a good shine. wash then buff with high speed buffer, compound and glaze. and really unless there are a lot of scratches i would just glaze

Meguiar's (or equivalent) Polish works well if it's not too bad. It is safer than using a more aggressive compound. Try cleaning, clay-bar, and polish first.

Use the clay bar first. mothers wax has a kit out. works really well. used it on my ninja to remove some overspray that got on the bike. made it smooth like a babies ***
