Not trying to be a jerk but if you don't know what you are talking about don't give him a bunch of bs info. The cracking comes from improper use of the products, i.e. flex. It is more likely a lack of flex additive than a molecule breakdown It can be repaired cheaper than replaced and I have never seen GM sale the bumper for 100 dollars.

Here comes a wise ***. So you think you know what you are talking about. Read correctly and maybe you will understand what was written. No one said anything about the molecules being the cause of spider cracks. Improper use of flex is a possibility, but even using the old flex system is a loss compared to todays flex which does not burn out with the sun. Research your info before you post like an idiot.

If you were to look at it from a microscope it would look like a bunch of little henges that allow flex. The older flex agents allowed the painter and assemblers time to put the parts on without breaking the paint.
Yes, I do know what I am talking about and buy you making some dumb *** comments that don't do anything but confuse people. It's obvious you don't. Flex does not burn out and it hasn't been dramatically altered since the 80's and I am pretty sure his repair wasn't done then. I have also used sikkens in the past and they are not exclusive to this break down or burn out you are talking about. My goal was to help not to blow smoke up his *** because I wanted everyone to think I was more than a prep-er for some one who actually does it for a living.

The only dumb *** comments are the ones you are posting. Man i'm not going to argue with you on this think whatever you want. I know my **** because i do it everyday, from prepping to finishing to custom paint to slapping on bondo which is what you probably do. I research my paints and products before i use them i know what i am talking about. Flex has came a long way in the last 2-3 years. If you dont believe me call them or research it, but i doubt you will. Flex does burn out. Quit slapping on bondo and do **** right. People like you think yall know everything

I really thought you were finished with making your self look silly, guess not. If you want to see some of my work look us up at horsepowerjunkies.com we are a sponsor on the board. If you do really work in a body shop all you are doing is giving body tech a bad name by showing your intelligence. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

Wow this thread changed alot since I last posted lol. So you guys think the bumper can still be repaired then? I've never really done any body work, but I'm willing to learn and try.

Yes it can still be rapainted. I did it to my T/A on the front and rear bumper. Also to my brothers T/A two weeks ago. If you want to learn you picked a hell of a project to start with. It's not that easy if its your first time, but i'm sure you can do it. Do you have all the materials and place to do this? Or are you planning to do this on the car?
