Default removing body kit.

I'm kind of getting over my body kit, especially my droopy front that I have to watch on every single tiny bump. I'm planning on removing it, however I can't figure out how to do it with out making a mess. The body kit is "fused" together with the other parts of the of car. The guy before me took it to a body shop I guess and the guy painted or filled or something the peices together. This is going to be a nightmare I can tell already. I'll try to get some pics up asap so you guys know what im talking about. Any tips would be great.

Try some fishing string and try to cut the kit off. lol. If your move forward keep the top of the string ahead of the bottom. It should push What looks fused, downward. I think your gonna need some profesional halp afterwards.

Fishing string: http://www.stren.com/ Use it like dental floss but on your car. It will cut the double sided tape. If you do it right it will push the fuesed paint down. You can use goof off to remove the tape from the car. Then wash it off.

Little hint on the fishing line, wear leather work gloves or get some small sticks, 'Lincoln logs' or similiar to wrap the ends of the line; that fishing line will wear your hands out if you don't. This is the same technique used to remove the side molding. Worked perfectly for me on molding. You are likely looking at some prep and paint work if a body man smoothed the pieces in like you say.

Do body kits peel off the paint when they come off?

This is what I was talking about how the peices were fused together. See how they just painted right over the connection?

nice install makes for nightmare removal. my best advice, don't touch it, get a quality body shop to do it for you, or leave it be.
