Painting my engine bay Okay so i pressure washed my engine bay and gave it its first coat. now i would like to sand it down to get it ready for the second coat. what grit should i use before hitting it with the second coat?

1000+ second coat...then what sand with 1200 and apply third coat?
should i use a clear after i am done?
btw the way im using spray paint (i know its not as good as the gun but thats the way im going with this one)
