The Lowdown on Lexan
for a street car? I am thinkin of replacing the rear hatch glass with lexan.
maybe the side windows also. I would like to know if anyone makes preformed pieces for 93+ camaros. Does this stuff yellow or fog up or is that a thing of the past? How about the anti scratch coatings?
I figure I could shave a lot of weight doing this but need some expert advice since this car is a daily driver and I am not sure how safe or feasible this would be.

it's illegal and scratches easy. i wouldn't do the side widows because it's pretty flexible even though it's like 10x stronger than glass.
they make some for UV applications so the light wont yellow it, i have a terrarium with UV lights and it is clear. if it does turn you can polish it fairly easily
lexan is far from cheap though so if you have a budget id go elsewhere for weight savings

sorry it's actually 250 times stronger than glass.
one reason it's so much lighter is it's much thinner so your doors would use lke an 8th inch??? that is really flexable and youd have a hard time sealing off water i'd assume
