Question about shaving rear side markers.
Its a large area to be filled, and one technique we though of using was cutting out a piece of material from another damaged bumper and apply that to the open area where the lights were and then using body filler to fill in the area.
Are there any other methods, hints or tips you can give me before we dive into this project?
if your bumper is yellow in color, then it is polyurathene, the methos you talked about is correct, here is what i would do
lightly grind the plastic on the bumper both side and the piece your going to mate to the bumper
i would plastic weld , the piece on, and then apply a coat of repair material to both sides of the bumper, and panle bond sticks to plastic too, its true, 3m and fursor both there panel bond sticks
this takes experience in plastic repairing/modifing, so iam guessing that its the bumper you are talking about right
if it is not yellow in color, before you apply any type of repair material to this type of plastic you need a adheshion promoter for anything to stick to TEO,PP, TPO, those are offlien plastics and need a promoter
hope that helps
