The satins does look good, but I really like SOM.................I would have a hard time painting the car satin or flat black. SOM cars are really beautiful.

Either flat or satin black would look great! I personally want to go satin black on my 01 trans am, i just dont have the cash to do it right now. I think t/a s would just look evil as hell in that dull black look.

SOM is an amazing color but satin black is pure evil. it seems that it'd be more expensive to change the color, if you get close then you could leave the door seals engine bay and other tough spots alone. either way will look good, imo

but white vents????????? sorry that just sounds gross. maybe a gun metal, hyper black or gloss??? it seems that the purpose of satin its to look sinister and white vents would kill it. i'd do blood red accents if i were lookin for more contrast than that

I think the flat black looks good when the car is completely blacked out (wheels, lights, etc)

I think you will be sorry if you go flat black, SOM is such a beautiful and rare color! If it was just about any other color i'd say go for it, but not SOM

I'd pony up the cash and take it to a great shop for a SOM repaint.

I don't typically care for flat/satin black, I think it takes a special kind of car to pull it off, and the firebird doesn't have the body for it in my opinion.

+1

Also I would be willing to bet that the flat black look wont be cool a year or two from now. SOM will still be a cool color though

Either satin or flat would be ok i guess do what ya want but as so many others have said SOM is iconic color of the fbodys... Satin or flat black reminds me of the mullet days as a matter of fact. The body lines are just to nice on the firebirds, WS's, and so on to dull them out with the ones your considering... But to each his own
