you paint in the middle of a duststorm? little trick for u next time. wet the floor down and put a big chain over the rear end to ground the vehicle. supposedly keeps some of the dust from sticking to the car if it is grounded. dont know if this works or not. by rear end i mean the 10 bolt not the hatch

What grit(s) sand paper did you use prior to paint? I think I see sanding marks through the paint as well. Did you use a black primer, find a black fender, or just paint over factory primer?

Pics dont do it justice.....

Plus for the RECORD I AM NOT A PAINTER......

It was a replacement fender that was on there when he bought the car a few months back that was never painted.

We had some base coat and clear in the garage and well... we painted it.

We are going to scuff it again and reclear it some more.

Than finish off with some wet sanding. It will look good after that.

Thing is though, if those are sanding scratches under your base re-clearing and water sanding are not going to completely fix it. I am still not sure it is, hard to tell in the pics, I am just trying to help a fellow Floridian out.
Being picky is the right attitude to have if you want it too look right. Keep at it and read up on prep work and it will get easier and look better every time. And the trick with wetting down the floor is a good one as long as you're a DIYer and not a shop, I worked for a shop where they did that (NASTY).
