Custom Hood Mods
(EDIT: New stuff starts on post 117)
(EDIT: Current project is on post 80 if you just want to skip all this dreaming and wishing for the past 2 years.)
I've been wanting to do something to my stock hood for a while. Here's one of my ideas.
What about hood vents combined with a reshaped nose?
Maybe the nose without the vents or vice versa? Comments?

Looks good....
My idea... take the area the raises in the middle and raise it another 1.5" to 2" higher. Nothing radical, but essentially a cowl type hood. I guess a better description is a ram air hood that is the same height all the way across, i.e. not center section removed.

I've considered a bubble shaped cowl induction. It's hard to say if it would even be noticable. I don't know.

I've seriously considered some tail fins on top of the wing. Kind of like a 59 Caddy but a bit smaller and without lights just to give it that Batman look. I gave up because I couldn't find a shape that didn't look corny. Besides, I don't want to paint the wing. The hood needs paint though, so I figured why not do something to it before I paint it.

I think what would look good would be some Mecham-style heat extractors on the stock hood, and then taking the front liscense plate cover and molding it to the car. Keep the bird, but eliminate the outline.

I wish I had better photoshop skills, but I don't.

The filled in nose idea was from last year, I only included it just for people to see. I'm mainly focused on the pointy nose idea.
I'm still a bit unsure about the vent size and shape, but I really like the pointy nose. I rounded it off just a little. It still looks pretty good without the sharp point. What do you think?
I like the idea of staggered vents from wide to narrow on the outer fenders, but one small problem. I don't think the guy who makes the vents does them like that. I'm limited to the vents that are already made.
I'll try and whip up some of those ideas in PS.

It's easy to do that with PS but to stretch the metal in the real world would be a pain in the rear. I guess It's doable, though.

I would love to see the smoothed front end (second pic) with an Ultra Z sytle scoop on it, but I guess that would be tough to follow the lines that you're going off of now.
