Removing painted pinstripe?

Removing painted pinstripe? Factory painted car with painted on pinstripe (you can feel it with your finger).
Is this something a good detailer can wetsand/buff out? Or am I looking at time with the body shop?

depending on how much clear is on the car will determine that. i would think it can be sanded down and buffed back out, but if the clear is real thin you can sand too much because youre gonna sand more than the stripe, youll sand the car too
If the painted stripe is above the clear you can use easyoff oven cleaner. I know its sounds weird but trust me i do it all the time on bikes. Same stuff. If its under the clear you are screwed and will need to sand and repaint. It will not harm the clear so try it on a small part, not in the sun and let it set for 15min. Then just wipe off with a clean rag.

If its under the clear you are screwed and will need to sand and repaint. It will not harm the clear so try it on a small part, not in the sun and let it set for 15min. Then just wipe off with a clean rag.
It's definitely not under the clear.

I had the same problem on a car I used to have. NOTHING would take it off. Laquer thinner would bring up some color but wouldnt take it off completely. Ended up sanding it off and repainting it...
