Questions about the alternator. I see it has the clutch style pulley, what exactly does this do? Is there any special wiring that needs to be done to make this work with my 2003 truck harness? Does the clutch work like a centriugal clutch ?

To be honest i am not sure. As far as i know this is a regular pulley. There is no special wiring, just the one wire connector and one wire off the battery.

Sorry I thought your pulley was the clutch type. I seen a demonstration done with the regular pulley and with the clutch style and the clutch took out almost all belt deflection. The tensioner hardly moved with the clutch pulley. Thanks.

Yeah the pulley extends out from the belt towards the front. From what I read it is to cut down on the back lash in the drive belt system. Look on youtube there is a guy that demonstrates the difference that the clutch pulley makes. Its night and day difference in harmonics. The idler is bouncing all around with the reg. pulley and hardly moves with the clutch pulley installed. Dodge started to run them on the vans because they were having problems with the belts being thrown. If I go Corvette alt. I will prolly end up with the clutch design.
