These 1/2 inch thick caliper adapter brackets allow you to use 12.8" X 1.26' C5/C6 corvette rotors and the PBR- made C5/C6 front calipers on any 93-02 F-Body.Total weight of installed components is equal to what is removed from LT1 cars, 25 lbs. They are laser cut with a state of the art Trumatic 4050 laser from 1045 steel & then painted black. Installation is identical to the Baer GT+ system and requires cutting off the "ears" from the LT1 spindles or "ear" on the LS1 spindles. All OEM 17" wheels fit this application. Some after market wheels may need spacers.
The C5/C6 rotors are about 1" bigger than the LS1 rotors and about 2" bigger than the LT1 rotors. They are also directional, unlike the LT 1 and LS1 setups. The directional fins pull air through the rotors to cool them better. Unlike other after market brake setups, C5/C6 components can be purchased at any parts store. These also work with the C6 Z51 13.4" brakes & the C6 ZO6 14" brakes.
Master cylinders on '93-'02 F-bodies do not need to be changed out for this swap. They provide the necessary hydraulic line pressure to actuate the Corvette calipers & give great pedal feedback for smooth application.Stock brake lines from '98-'02 F-body are utilized in this swap.
The '97-'07 C5/C6 Corvette rotors are a hubless design just like the '93-'02 4th Gen. F-body is. This allows the C5/C6 rotors to slip on & off the 4th Gen. F-body O.E. hub. No aftermarket hub is needed for this conversion.The '97-'07 Corvette brake conversion will bring your 4th gen. F-body ('93-'02 Camaro, Firebird & T/A) up to today's standards in braking capability,with your choice of braking systems ranging from:
12.8" x 1.25" rotors w/pressure cast aluminum twin piston PBR calipers.
13.4" x 1.25" rotors w/pressure cast aluminum twin piston PBR calipers.
14" x 1.25" rotors with six piston PBR calipers.
