I bought it with 12,000 miles on it for my LS2 powered RX7, but unfortunately, I find the gear ratios to be a burden for a 2800# car with 3.90s in the rear. 1st gear is pointless--so I am selling it to buy a new T56 Magnum.
The transmission is the one as pictured, but I am removing the bellhousing and slave cylinder (along with the speed bleeder) as I will still need them for my car.
Also-- It has the F-body style shifter cup installed already (that will stay with the trans) and I can also include the GTO piece if you need.
upon it being installed 2 years ago--- it HAD a slight grind in 6th gear. So I removed it and pulled it apart over the winter. I contacted Joey at tick performance and bought the following parts: (April 2010)
-5-6 sync assembly (hub and slider)
-6th gear (67 tooth I believe)
-Billet 3-4 keys
-Bronze shift pads (1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and reverse)
-input shaft seal
-snap ring kit
-input shaft bearing (Timkin)
Everything was thoroughly cleaned and inspected and bearing preloads were checked. All the parts listed above where installed. I have since put approx 7,000 miles on it and it shifts PERFECTLY with NO GRINDS. No leaks either. I have only used Mobil 1 ATF in this transmission.
In case you are not certain of the differences between this (MN12) and the MN6 transmission--the MN12 has triple syncro 1st and 2nd gears, double syncro 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th--making this a very nice shifting trans..
also, it has a 2.97 first gear ratio vs the MN6's 2.66, giving much quicker acceleration out of the hole (for a heavier car---not a 2800# RX7 with 3.90's)
$1600 + shipping
thanks, Jared
