Default WTT: Proven 408ci Boost shortblock for 370ci shortblock

Category: Engine - Complete Motors
Price: $12346
Part Fits: 93-02 Chevrolet Camaro
Location (State): TN
Item Condition: Used
Shipping Information: Item Can be Shipped
Engine: LS1/LS6
LS Engine?: Fits LS Engine

What I have is as follows:

JE 2618 4.030 bore pistons -29cc dish with upgraded Total Seal AP ring package
Eagle H-beam 6.125 rods
Eagle 4.000 crank
New bearings with 15 passes on the whole setup.

All packed in a 6.0L iron block.

Motor has made over 1000rwhp with a 88mm turbo setup and has NEVER lifted a head. Only problem we had was a valve issue, and we replaced two pistons last year with brand new ones. Cylinder walls look excellent, and bearings look great too. bottom end it studded as well.

I'm looking for something relatively similiar, but with less c.i. Send me what you got, let's talk!

Try bouncing one more time. Again, I'm looking for something with at least a 4.0 bore minimum to utilize the heads i already have.

Thanks!
Tim

It did excellent actually. Better than we thought it would. It was a TV8513 Garrett, so not a "performance" turbo by any means. The AR was a 1.39. Like I said, we had a pretty easy go making 1000 to the tire with the setup.

I am a huge fan of the AES shortblock setups. Only thing is i want a hardblock half filled 370 setup.

that sounds great! i was wondering if you may have had a large ar. my .96 is a concern for me with choking. i think i'm going to list my shortblock for 2 weeks and see what happens. if it doesn't move, i'll run with it. just wish my comp ratio was lower than it is at around 10.1 or 10.2 range probably with the roughly 70-71cc heads. i'd love something around 9:1 with 400 cubes or 9.1-9.5 with the 5.3-6.0 motor. good luck with it! i wanna see the vids as well!

If you have a 408, that .96 is definitely going to be your choke point, depending on how much power you're trying to make. I'm low compression. At worst, I'd actually like to be where you are with my 408. I'm around 9.1 (-29cc dish pistons and stock LS9 heads).

The biggest problem we have right now is 1) weight and 2) proper turbo/ci mapping

problem #1 is going away, I'm just looking ahead at how to fix #2 before we get there, haha. Worst case, we'll run the "biggest" 76mm i can get my hands on and hope for the best with the 408 setup this year.
