Default 2nd Gen 8.5 inch 10-bolt, Moser axles, new GM diff

Category: Drivetrain
Price: $1200
Location (State): IN
Item Condition: Brand New
LS Engine?: Non-LS Part

I was in the middle of setting up a 10-bolt for road racing when I stumbled into a killer deal on another axle. I'm interested in selling what I gathered:

New / Unused items:
  • Moser Axles with ford ends and 31 splines, 1/2 lug bolts, 5 on 4.75" pattern ***
  • Moser Weld-on Ford ends and axle retainers for 10-bolt housing ***
  • HD GM Differential (Looks like Auburn), 31 spline, with new bearings pressed on
  • GM 3.23 Ring and Pinion gears
  • Seal, bearing, crush sleeve and shim kit for GM 10-bolt
  • Solid crush sleeve replacement

Used:
10-bolt 8.5" housing for 2nd Gen F-body, cleaned and painted

*** eliminates the c-clip retention of the stock GM axles - a MUST for road racing or "G Machine" use.

This stuff is all unassembled, so you don't have to take anyone's word that was "built right." $1200 firm (over $1600 into listed items) Local pick up only. Item is in Homewood, IL. May consider delivery to NW Indiana or south suburban Chicago.

I will toss in an extra 10-bolt 3.23 posi "organ donor" rear end (bad diff unit, leaking seals, worn bearings, 100K miles, aftermarket ring and pinion still good) on a full-price offer.

Possible horse trading:
  • T56
  • Ported / aftermarket heads for LS1
  • Complete LSx car intake, harness, computer
  • A paint job (for the car pictured in my footer)
  • 17x9 or 18x9 wheels with 5" backspace

PM me if you're interested.

part number on the diff is GM 12369497. The weld-on axle ends will take stock GM brake backing plates *if* you widen out the center hole to clear the Ford bearings - they retain the GM factory bolt positions.
