I haven't quite figured out what I'm gonna do with the motor yet. I'm working on getting some pics of the damage then we'll go from there...

Wow. Really unfortunate. Can this be fixed? What size reluctor ring is on the crank?

I would fix it myself if I had the bank but the only reason for trying to sell this in the 1st place was because I needed the money so yea. And it has a 58x reluctor ring...

And I can't tell exactly what's wrong/needs to be replaced with the motor still together. If I can't get a buyer soon I will take it apart and part it out...

Oh yes! If I sold a blown engine that I bought from someone else. I would at a bare minimum go half refund. We would both be out of $$, but the loss wouldn't hurt so much.

I would also have the other guy track down that "GM" guy. Someone knew that engine was no bueno.

Default that sucks

so at the most you are looking at to fix it. 1 cyl re sleeved. new pistons, crank, oil pump, cam lifters and cam bearings and if not to bad could save the rods. has anyone checked further into it

I don't know...from the pictures, the bore doesn't looked destroyed. BTW does anyone know the max over bore for the LY6?

Oil pump, lifters, and cam bearings are too cheap to not swap them out no matter what. I think a small investment could get this beast up and running.

It should just need a fresh hone in that one cylinder. Once again, I would just rebuilt it myself but the original reason for me trying to sell in the 1st place was because I needed the money. Last bump before I take it apart and part it out...

Did you pay for it with a credit card? Dispute the charge before it's too late, you'll almost certainly get your money back in this case, the toolbag admitted he sold you a fucked up engine. Anyway, best of luck, I know how shitty getting a bad motor can be.
