I bought a used t4 Borg Warner s480 around a year ago. The turbo was on a Toyota supra so I had the compressor housing modified to work on my Huron speed turbo kit. The turbo was used on my 408 stroker camaro without issue for a year. After the winter I notice oil leaking down the turbo into the exhaust. I ordered a Schweitzer rebuild kit with the upgraded 360 thrust bearing and installed that. I idled the car after the rebuild and had no issues and no oil leaking. I rolled into boost once and parked the car only to find oil sitting under the turbo the next day. I rerouted my drain lines and have not noticed oil since.

Flash forward to today, I found a deal on a billet race cover s480 and picked it up so I’ll be selling my old turbo. I am not sure if the unit will need rebuilt again or if my poorly routed oil lines created the problem in the beginning. This is the reason for pricing the t4 s480 cheaper.
