Auburn as 98s' and earlier or Torsen as came in 99s' and later ?

My guess would be Auburn since its a 98. But im not to sure since the old owner had the rear end rebuild. Anyway i could tell the difference.?

Is the rearend still functional in the car or has the rearend been dis-assembled ?

Its still in the car but isnt functional. I took the cover off and i could see the carrier has chunks missing and some gear teeth are missing
