The A/F gauges are so inaccurate you wouldn't want to bother mounting one in your car. If you want to make your own Lambda meter, Techedge of Austraila has a kit you can buy that's pretty cheap. If you're using Autotap of EFILive on your laptop, that's just commanded AFR not actual, and is worthless for tuning purposes.

Stu,

There is no need to display your oxygen sensor readings because they are only accurate near 14.7 to 1 and the PCM is watching them for you. Useful A/F guages require the installation of an additional sensor, a so-called wideband sensor.

if you happen to be one of the ones that have had luck tuning with the stock sensors like myself. then you can get any of the variety of sensors out there.. they all interpret the same numbers from the computer to the display of your liking.
i have (and like) the autometer one, but if i could do it again i would try to find one that could display the a/f ratio digitally (12:1) etc.
i have seen good and reliable results using this method exclusively on my car.. not to say that there isnt more hp on the table in a max effort tune on a wideband.. but fwiw there is a VERY affordable wideband group purchase taking place here now.

The Innovate motorsports wideband sold in the GP has mappable outputs, so you can hook it up to an AFR gauge and have an accurate wideband display on your a-pillar.
