Hesitation - PE Delay? Timing delay?
Upon flooring it from around 50 mph, the car will downshift into second gear, take off, then about 3 tenths of a second after downshifting it feels like it gains 40hp. I noticed it in the past and it is more noticeable now with the colder weather. What could be causing this delay in power? I thought I had everything covered with the torque management being disabled and the PE enable rpm set to zero. what else should i be looking for?
Best thing to do is log it and find out... watch timing and commanded AFR in particular... that will tell you if you missed something in one of them. I would suspect timing from what you describe.
I would more suspect that when you hit into
it, you see a KR blip from the air surge, fuel
add and timing pull may be a bit slow to
cover it. Log for knock retard as well as
total advance, and anything you can use to
determine whether you are seeing a lean
transient at tip-in.
