what pcm will work in an 01?

i know 01 and 02 will. will an 00 plug in and work?

I used to run a 2000 pcm in my 2001 WS6 with no problems. I liked the 2000 timing table much better.

Yes, it will plug in and fire right up. The calibration is way different though, the car might run very rough.

i just need to throw one in to test out something and make sure its the pcm thats goofy. read my other post in this section about my speedo.

the wires are different on an 00 and 01 though...how did you just plug it in and make it run:

There may be a couple of very minor differences but the 99 and up F-body PCM's are essentially the same. You should be able to plug any one of them into another and it should come up and run ok. Just make sure it's from an F-body.

The most desirable service part number is 12200411. I just bought one from a wrecking yard for $125. This one was from an f-body, but you can get one from any LS1 vehicle. You will have to have it flashed with the f-body program if it is not already from an f-body. You can do this at a GM dealer and some auto parts stores. I did this at an O-Reilly store. All you need is a VIN number so their system can download the latest flash for the year f-body.
